Kurt D. Olender

Kurt D. Olender is the founding and managing partner of the firm, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and corporate law and related commercial areas of practice.

Kurt dedicates a substantial portion of his practice to advising companies on business and strategic issues, including financial management and growth strategy, turnaround and restructuring, and asset maximization.  Having worked with several hundred companies in his career, Kurt brings a depth of legal and business knowledge to his clients, coupling experience with practical and creative advice that provides clients with the ability to effectively achieve their goals.

He is particularly skilled in representing companies in all facets of the business life cycle: corporate formation and structure issues, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, complex contract negotiations and drafting, protection and exploitation of intellectual property, and data privacy and information security. Kurt represents companies in a diversity of industries that are located regionally, nationally, and internationally: retail, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, media, eCommerce, computer software, transportation, technology, and hospitality, amongst others.

Kurt was formerly a partner at Reed Smith LLP in the corporate and securities department.  Kurt earned his B.A. in economics from the University of Rochester and his J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law where he was an editor of the Syracuse Law Review.  He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
