Michael J. Feldman

Michael J. Feldman is a founding partner of the firm and focuses his practice on the ever-expanding world of national and international data privacy and security law and regulation, intellectual property protection, general business operations and strategy, and related commercial areas of practice. By combining his data privacy and security/corporate background with his prior extensive complex commercial litigation experience, together with a thorough understanding of his client’s business operations, goals, and aspirations, Michael has been extremely successful in providing effective, efficient, and practical advice and representation narrowly tailored to each client’s interests and needs.

Michael enjoys using his more than two decades of legal experience to help clients in all aspects of their business operations, including determining privacy/data security risks and compliance issues and developing appropriate solutions, planning and executing on business strategy, engaging in complex contract negotiation and drafting (including licensing, website-related agreements, and services agreements), and protecting critical intellectual property. Michael has also represented clients consistently throughout his career in complex litigation matters and business disputes in the state and federal courts, as well as in various Alternative Dispute Resolution forums – always with an eye towards each client’s unique goals. Michael primarily represents closely held companies in a variety of industries, including technology, consulting, medical, pharmaceutical, retail, wholesale, construction, and manufacturing.

Michael was named a “Top Rated Business & Corporate” attorney for 2020 and 2021, as well as a “Rising Star” in 2006 and 2007, by Super Lawyers (see https://www.superlawyers.com/about/selection_process.html for selection process). Michael is also member of the Legal Committee of the American Alpine Club and Counsel to the South Mountain Conservancy.  Michael also serves as a volunteer coach for the Millburn High School Boys Cross Country and Spring Track teams.

Michael earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.A. in political science and history from Rutgers University. He is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, Michael is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) accredited from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the industry standard in Information Privacy, as well as a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Privacy Law Committee. Prior to forming OlenderFeldman, Michael was an attorney with Reed Smith LLP and LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae, LLP, two major international law firms.
