Michael Zussman has over a decade of experience advising middle-market and emerging businesses in the areas of corporate and business law, venture capital financings, intellectual property protection, technology transactions, mergers & acquisitions, and digital media. Michael’s practice focuses on all stages of a company’s life-cycle, from incorporation to exit, and he represents clients in an “outside general counsel” capacity, handling their sophisticated operational work and day-to-day business transactions. His clients span a wide range of industries, most notably technology and digital media, fashion, retail, advertising and design.
Michael earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from New York Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Theater Arts, from Brandeis University. Prior to joining OlenderFeldman, Michael was a member of the Venture Law Group in one of New York’s most well-respected digital media, entertainment, and intellectual property law firms. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
He served as the 2017-2019 chair of the Federal Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section, and is a past president of the FBA’s Southern District of New York Chapter, where his leadership earned the chapter the Presidential Excellence Award. Michael was named to the Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list (New York Metro, Intellectual Property) for five consecutive years.
In addition to practicing law, Michael is an avid runner and has run the New York City Marathon twice, the San Francisco Marathon, and nineteen half marathons.
