Michael Zussman has over a decade of experience advising emerging and enterprise-level businesses in the areas of corporate and business law, technology transactions, intellectual property protection, mergers & acquisitions, and digital media. Michael’s practice focuses on all stages of clients’ life-cycles, from incorporation to exit, and he represents clients in an “outside general counsel” capacity, handling their sophisticated operational work and day-to-day business transactions. His clients span a wide range of sectors, most notably in the new media, technology and creative industries.
Michael earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from New York Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Theater Arts, from Brandeis University. Prior to joining OlenderFeldman, Michael was associated with one of New York’s most well-respected media and intellectual property law firms.
He serves as the 2017-2018 chair of the Federal Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section, and is a past president of the FBA’s Southern District of New York Chapter, where his leadership earned the chapter the Presidential Excellence Award. Michael has been named to the Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list (New York Metro, Intellectual Property) in every year since 2013. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
In addition to practicing law, Michael is an avid runner and has run the New York City Marathon twice, the San Francisco Marathon, and nineteen half marathons. His next fitness goal is to compete in a triathlon.
